Tywin's troops enter the capital and sack it. Jaime kills King Aerys, known as the Mad King.
The Whispering Wood

Robb's first great victory, in which he traps Jaime Lannister's army despite being outnumbered.

Stannis attacks King's Landing by sea, but Tyrion sets the river ablaze with wildfire. The arrival of Tywin and the Tyrells saves the city.
